Wealthy Ranjit Rai (Sadashiv Amrapurkar), and his close, equally wealthy, friend, Harbanslal (Dalip Tahil) deceive their children and get them to sign a marriage certificate, which states that Ranjit’s son, Ajay (Ajay Devgan) has married, Madhu (Juhi Chawla), the daughter of Harbanslal in thinking to to prevent their children from marrying poor spouses. But Ajay falls to Kajal (Kajol) and Madhu fall in love with Raja (Aamir Khan), who are from poor family. Ranjit and Harbans concoct several schemes but are unable to separate the lovers, and then when they actually give in to the lovers’ demands. Rest of the story is whether their parents succeed to seperate the lovers, or lover suceed in their love ?
